Care Safe’s Free Christmas Lunch: A Celebration of Community and Care
On December 11, 2025, Care Safe hosted a heartwarming Free Christmas Lunch at the Leigh Community Centre in Leigh-on-Sea. This event brought together the local community and honoured the unsung heroes—our dedicated care workers—the festive gathering aimed to connect care home managers with their residents while spreading holiday cheer.
Several local care home managers attended, fostering camaraderie and celebration among all participants. Local MP Mr David Burton-Sampson joined the festivities, sharing quality time with attendees and delighting everyone with a heartfelt Christmas song. Additionally, two talented individuals with learning disabilities showcased their singing skills, highlighting the incredible talent within our community.
Mr Ben Cluett from Southend City Council’s Economic Development Team shared a thoughtful message, emphasising the importance of community connection and support. The event not only provided free food but also offered complimentary health check-ups for all attendees, reminding everyone of the importance of self-care—especially in a field where personal care workers often prioritise others’ needs over their own.
This marks Care Safe’s second consecutive year running the Community Connect initiative at the Leigh Community Centre, aimed at fostering connections and sharing the festive spirit with everyone. It serves as a reminder that our health is our responsibility, and together, we can create a supportive community that values the well-being of all its members.
As we move into the new year, Care Safe remains committed to supporting the local community and its heroes—our care workers. We look forward to continuing these efforts and making a positive impact on the lives we touch. Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to making this event a memorable celebration of health, community, and festive spirit!
